Lane Keeping Assist System (LKAS) is part of the Honda Sensing® suite of safety and driver-assist features that can be found on almost every Honda vehicle today. In short, Lane Keep Assist uses visual markers to analyze where you are on the road, and alerts you if you begin to drift accidentally from your lane. How Does Lane Keep Assist Work?

So, how does Lane Keep Assist work? It uses sophisticated technology to detect lane markings on the road; if you start to drift from your current lane without signaling, your Honda will use a combination of visual and tactile alerts to quickly notify you. These alerts include vibrating the steering wheel, making a loud notification sound, and flashing a Lane Departure warning on the multi–information display. Lane Keep Assist can also help you keep your vehicle centered until you take action. 

Can I Turn Lane Keep Assist Off? 

You can disable a wide range of driver assist features, including Lane Keep Assist, with a few easy steps. If you want to turn off any of the safety features, just follow these steps:

• Press the MAIN button on the steering wheel until you see LKAS on the multi-information display 
• Press LKAS
• You’ll see lane outlines on the display (dotted lines turn solid when the system is ready) 
• Press the MAIN or LKAS button to turn off the system
