What is Apple CarPlay®?

Apple CarPlay® gives you the ability to connect your iPhone to your Honda so that the in-vehicle touchscreen looks and functions like your iPhone screen. You’ll be able to access turn-by-turn directions, make phone calls, listen to music, or send and receive text messages, all without having to take your eyes off the road or your hands off the steering wheel. How to Connect to Apple CarPlay®

Before learning how to set up Apple CarPlay®, you need to determine whether Apple CarPlay® is offered in your area, as it is not available everywhere. We also recommend that you have an iPhone 5 or later model. Then, follow these simple steps to set up Apple CarPlay®.

1. Start your car and leave it running.
2. On your iPhone, go to Settings > Siri & Search, and turn Siri on. 
3. Plug your phone into the CarPlay® USB port, which should be labeled with the CarPlay® logo. 
4. If your car supports a wireless CarPlay, turn on your iPhone, go to Settings > General > CarPlay > Available Cars, and select your car. Check your owner’s manual if you need more detailed information.

Ask Siri for what you need by either pressing and holding the Voice Control button on your steering wheel or touching and holding the CarPlay Home button on your touchscreen until Siri appears.

How to Update Apple CarPlay®

After you have successfully set up Apple CarPlay®, you may want to know how to update it so that you’ll have all of the Apple CarPlay® apps you use displayed as you wish on your Honda touchscreen. The following steps demonstrate how to update your Apple CarPlay®:

• Go to Settings > General, and tap CarPlay on your iPhone.
• Choose your car, truck, or SUV.
• You can now add or delete apps and rearrange the icons to suit your preferences.
