How Much Can a Honda Ridgeline Tow?
The Honda Ridgeline 2WD configuration offers a towing capacity of up to 3,500 pounds. With all-wheel drive, Southbury drivers can enjoy a Ridgeland towing capacity of up to 5,000 pounds. Since not all of the available Ridgeline configurations offer all-wheel drive, let’s take a look at each trim level to find out which has the towing capability you want.
2020 Honda Ridgeline Towing Capacity by Trim Level
All four of the available Ridgeline configurations are powered by a 3.5L V6 engine that delivers 280 hp with 262 lb-ft of torque. This robust engine is paired with a smooth-shifting 9-speed automatic transmission with shift-by-wire and paddle shifters. Torrington drivers can choose between a 2WD system and the Intelligent Variable Torque Management™ (iVTM4®) AWD System. Here is the Honda truck towing capacity for each of the four available configurations:
- Sport Trim: The entry-level Ridgeline Sport trim offers a choice between two-wheel drive with 3,500 pounds of towing power, or all-wheel drive with 5,000 pounds of max towing capability.
- RTL Trim: The 2WD RTL can tow up to 3,500 pounds, while the all-wheel drive version offers a maximum 5,000 pounds of towing.
- RTL-E: The RTL-E is only offered with all-wheel drive and a maximum 5,000-pound towing capacity.
- Black Edition: Comes with standard AWD and has a towing capacity of 5,000 pounds.
The AWD Ridgeline models feature a standard integrated tow hitch with 7-pin connector. If you are interested in finding Ridgeline towing accessories, stop by our Parts Center.

All Ridgeline trims also are equipped with Hill Start Assist, which can prevent rollback when you switch your foot from the brake pedal to the gas pedal with the truck parked on an incline.
